FLYERS SIGN FORWARD OSKAR LINDBLOM

The Philadelphia Flyers have signed forward Oskar Lindblom to an entry level contract, according to general manager Ron Hextall.

Lindblom, 20 (8/15/1996), recently completed his third full season with Brynas IF of the Swedish Hockey League. In 52 regular season games this season, Lindblom recorded 22 goals and 25 assists for 47 points. He finished the season ranked second in the SHL in goals and fourth in overall points. Lindblom then went on to score four goals and add 10 assists for 14 points in 20 playoff games, helping his team to the SHL final. He was named the SHL’s Forward of the Year following the season.

In 141 career games with Brynas, Lindblom recorded 38 goals and 49 assists for 87 points. He also represented Sweden at the 2015 and 2016 World Junior Championships, recording a total of seven goals and eight assists for 15 points in 14 games.

A 6-2, 196-lb native of Gavle, Sweden, Lindblom was selected by the Flyers in the fifth round (138th overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
